mymobility App for Knee Replacement Recovery
Your friendly reminder and education tool
The mymobility app is a personalized way to keep you moving and keep you connected. It keeps you informed before surgery and helps you stay on track after surgery. Dr. Maish expects his patients to use it every day and complete the tasks each day they are assigned.
mymobility provides:
- Timely education, checklists and reminder notifications
- Effortless communication with your care team, including messages, pictures and videos
- Video-guided exercise tutorials
- Data collection on activity levels, associated pain and progress with your care plan
- Patient progress insights to compare your recovery to other patients like you
Recovering at home
Many of Dr. Maish’s patients do their rehabilitation at home, guided by the exercises, education and reminders in mymobility, rather than travelling to routine outpatient physical therapy visits. Your care team watches your progress in the app and steps in if you need more help.
This has been studied. In a randomized controlled trial of knee replacement patients, those who used the mymobility platform for self-directed rehabilitation had results that were not inferior to standard care, and fewer of them needed physical therapy visits.1,2 In that study, some patients using the app still needed in-person therapy.
It is not right for everyone. Dr. Maish and his team decide with you, based on your knee, your health, and how your recovery is going. If you need in-person physical therapy, you will get it.
Apple Watch and iPhone
Dr. Maish encourages patients to use wearable measuring devices. With an iPhone and Apple Watch, mymobility can add information such as your steps, walking and heart rate to what your care team sees. If you have a Persona IQ smart knee, this adds to the data from your implant.
If you qualify for an Apple Watch through the program, you will receive an email after you log in to mymobility the first time, with instructions for ordering it.
Messaging your care team
The messaging feature lets you write questions, send pictures or videos, or raise any concerns. Messages are checked during business hours. The app is not for emergencies. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911.

Important information
Not all patients are candidates for the use of this product and surgeons should evaluate individually to determine which patients are appropriate for remote care. Patients must have Internet access and a text-capable mobile device or a compatible smartphone to use mymobility; not all smartphone app features are available with web-based version. Some patients continue to experience pain and/or limited mobility. Activity levels and restrictions will vary based on your individual condition.
mymobility can only be used if prescribed by a surgeon for patients identified as appropriate for remote care.
