ZBEdge Analytics: Connecting Surgery and Recovery Data

What is ZBEdge® Analytics?

ZBEdge Analytics is a data platform for surgeons. It is not something you log in to as a patient. It brings together, in one place, information that used to live in separate systems:

  • During surgery: measurements recorded by ROSA, such as how the implant was positioned and how the knee was balanced.
  • During recovery: mobility and patient-reported information from the mymobility app.
  • From the knee itself: walking and motion measurements from the Persona IQ smart knee.

Why it matters to you

Connecting what was done in surgery with how patients actually recover lets a surgeon look at his own results objectively, see how they compare with his peers, and keep improving. That is the purpose: better-informed care for the next patient, and the one after that.

It fits how Dr. Maish already works. He uses smart implants as a measuring tool for reporting outcomes, and he reports to the American Joint Replacement Registry so that the success of his procedures can be measured for years to come.

Your information

When you first log in to mymobility you choose whether to share your data in an aggregate manner with your surgeon and Zimmer Biomet. You can opt out. See Persona IQ questions and answers for how your data is used and who can see it.

Important information

The objective kinematic data generated by the CTE with CHIRP System are not intended to support clinical decision-making and have not been shown to provide any clinical benefit. Not all patients are candidates for this product and/or procedure. Only a medical professional can determine the treatment appropriate for your specific condition. Appropriate postoperative activities and restrictions will differ from patient to patient. Talk to your surgeon about whether joint replacement is right for you and the risks of the procedure, including the risk of implant wear, infection, loosening, breakage or failure, any of which could require additional surgery. For a complete list of benefit and risk information visit www.zimmerbiomet.com or call 1-800-HIP-KNEE.

Not all patients are candidates for the use of this product and surgeons should evaluate individually to determine which patients are appropriate for remote care. Patients must have Internet access and a text-capable mobile device or a compatible smartphone to use mymobility; not all smartphone app features are available with web-based version. Some patients continue to experience pain and/or limited mobility. Activity levels and restrictions will vary based on your individual condition.
